COVID-19 Protocol

COVID-19 PROTOCOL

The Retreat has always had a high standard for hygiene and sanitation, but we have raised the bar even higher during the past month. We’ve carefully considered every step of the treatment process to ensure we meet your needs in a focused and safe manner.

We’ve developed and are exercising our Pandemic Protocol – a plan of best practices outlining rigorous safety measures to protect our clients and our Retreat team. It was created according to NC Executive Order 141 and incorporates guidelines from the CDC, NC Dept of Health and Human Services, the City of Durham, OSHA, NC Board of Cosmetic Arts, Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, and other key agencies. We will continue to adapt as science and regulatory authorities progress.

The following is a brief overview of the guidelines we are using to keep clients and therapists safe:

  • We pre-screen clients and employees for sickness and contact with COVID-19 cases.

  • We recommend clients in high-risk and vulnerable groups not receive treatments at this time.

  • We have re-designed our appointment times, transaction processes, and traffic flow inside the studio to maintain a safe distance in common areas.

  • Well-fitting masks are required for both clients and therapists in all areas of the studio.

  • We wash and sanitize hands repeatedly.

  • We recommend thorough hand washing instead of gloves.

  • We disinfect professional use products after each use.

  • Our tables are clean with freshly laundered linens for each client.

  • We clean and disinfect all equipment and surfaces in each room before use.

  • We store clean and used items and tools separately.

  • We disinfect high-touch areas at least hourly.

  • We clean retail product if it has been handled.
